Happy Blogsgiving!

I know, I know. It’s been awhile. And for that, I extend my apologies to my Blogyle fans (all three of you, give or take a few). Compared to my last post, this post will be more “local.” The last week of school before I left for Thanksgiving break, I saw a TON of argyle-inspired things! But only took a few pictures, yikes. Here they are for your viewing pleasure :

This is my friend and fellow BOB, Courtney King. Not only is she super trendy, but she is also very creative, loves a good crafternoon and has a wonderful spirit about her. Here she is, sporting argyle socks! This picture was taken during a BOB event.

This is Anthony’s lady-friend (and my new friend!), Erin. She’s keeping warm this winter with a wonderful scarf, reminiscent of the diamond-pattern we all know and love. This was taken after Truman’s production of A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream. The play was good, I’m not really that into Shakespeare, though. I went with Kenny, and it was a good time per usual. Oh! I guess I should mention there was a mudpit and topless boys.

This last picture is taken in Kirksville own town-square, as I was driving to Hy-Vee. I had my eye on this wall for quite some time, and since I was the only one on the road, I stopped mid-destination and took a quick pic. This is on the side of Hidden Treasures, a second-hand-type store. There are great finds (hence the name) but even greater is side-wall with diamonds, again, like argyle! Thank you, Kirksville.

Great news came to me via telephone call yesterday, during Black Friday. Greg (see posts below for photo reference) bought two, not ONE, TWO argyle sweaters on his shopping-spree. I was beyond thrilled and can not wait to see these in person and to blog about it. Greg makes my argyle world go ‘round.

Basketblogyle.

Last night, I was on the phone with my buddy Kenny, and he mentioned that he was watching sports (Kenny is a jock and LOVES sports) when he noticed that the University of North Carolina's basketball team had argyle running down the sides of their basketball uniforms. After some research today, I've decided to talk about basketball and argyle. Apparently, in 2000 was when argyle first appeared on the UNC basketball uniforms, I don’t think this is accurate information, though, because I found this picture of MJ from awhile ago and the uniform definitely had argyle in it :

I used to watch some b-ball (like that?) back in the day & Michael was definitely my favorite. Others that I enjoyed watching : Reggie Miller, Penny Hardaway and definitely NOT Karl Malone. But this is about argyle, I wouldn’t want to steer away from that otherwise Greg will give me shit about this later on his radio show. So anyway, I researched more pictures of UNC + argyle.
Thanks to MORE research, I found out that Shaw University ALSO has argyle on their uniforms. I still enjoy watching basketball, but this match-up would be extra great for the following reasons :

1. Tall boys running around.
2. ARGYLE!!!!!!!

I also found this sweet picture of different argyle. Take a looksie:

BOBgyle.

This weekend was BOB-filled. & argyle filled! On Friday, BOB hosted “Now That's What I Call Prom 16!” : a benefit dance party for our philanthropic cause, Victim Support Services. The turnout was good, the music was form NOW CDs and this guy wore argyle!

I think his name is Daniel, I don’t know him or anything, I just enjoy argyle.

The next evening was our BOB Formal dinner. Kenny was my date and it was a lot of fun. The dinner was splendid, the awards were funny, and the alumni were pleasant. After dinner, we went to DQ and then the Dukum, where I saw some of my favorite Lambda Chis (pictures posted on FB). Erik and Jeremey wore argyle and they looked very handsome, of course they paled in comparison to my date, but argyle is argyle and I love it all the same.

Here is a really nice picture that Erik took during the cocktail party :

Jeremey, Erik, Kenny and me, amidst great fashion.

Also, on Friday afternoon, I was on the radio! Greg introduced me as the author of Blogyle (duh). I didn’t really say much, but my parting words were “Argyle rules! And so do I!”

Meet Me In St. Louis.

So. AIGA went on a mini-vacay to St. Louis this past weekend. We left on Wednesday evening and arrived back to the ‘ville Friday eve. It was fun! And of course I documented it via iPhone, paying special attention to a certain diamond pattern that I am very fond of. There are more details about the trip on my other blog, because this one is “all argyle, all the time!” and you know how I like to keep things organized (not so much).

This picture is from the second day in STL. Here I am with my viscompadres, Josh Cook and Patrick Jones. I am sporting an argyle sweater vest from the GAP. I look like a freak, but these two look really nice, SO PROFESSIONAL!

I wasn't the only one sporting an argyle vest that wonderful Friday afternoon! I don’t know who that cute asian guy was, but he was totally reppin’ the argyle and totally making it look go-od. Notice the squared-toe shoes, I dig it.

(edit) Joe posted pictures he took and this one makes it SO obvious I was checking out that guy’s argyle. Haha, I’m a freak.

While in STL, some of the girls and I explored South County Mall (I think) and we went to Forever 21. There were a lot of argyle sweaters, but none that I wanted to splurge on. Instead, I got an orange vest.

Shout out.

It has been brought to my attention that my last post failed to mention that I watched HSM3 with one of my besties, Kenny Keefer. Though, I will throw it out there that I had a pretty amazing time, I’m glad I had already seen it. Let’s just say Kenny is “chatty.”

Also, Ashley. To address your question/comment : I believe that the argyle sweater vests are somewhat similar, and may be the same brand, but it’s hard to tell since Lucas is sitting.

In argyle news, in the new issue of Details magazine, there was a wonderful 3-page spread for the GAP featuring argyle! I’m sure the campaign is shown in other magazines, but it definitely caught my eye. I’ve taken the liberty to search for you so all you have to do is click this link, and it should take you to the results for “argyle” when you search the GAP. Here is an example from the site:

Argylogies.

I just wanted to extend an apology, especially to Nathan, for misquoting him on the JT argyle spotting. Nathan was nice enough to refer me to the correct picture of JT's golf argyle picture. And even though it is not 100% argyle, I still am pretty into it. Take a looksie:

Pretty nice, eh?

Also, I saw HSM3 (again) tonight, and I forgot to mention it last time, but there was a great amount of argyle in that movie. They were mostly sweaters and mostly worn by Lucas Grabeel. I could not find a picture on google, so I went to YouTube and took a screen shot from the trailer. The flick is pretty fun, and if you like argyle, there is plenty of eye-candy.
